Did Nostradamus Predict Ebola? Nostradamus Ebola Prediction

Nostradamus was no stranger to death from disease himself. As a physician in the 16th Century, the French seer was exposed to numerous patients suffering from the Bubonic plague. Under his care, entire villages were remedied of the disease thanks to the doctor’s prescription of herbal remedies and, above all, cleanliness.

The modern day plague, Ebola may not be clocking up the same death toll as the “Black Death” but the media speculation surrounding the infection is enough to get people panicked. The latest spin is that experts fear the disease could go airborne and claim more victims.

Plagues and pestilence appear quite frequently in the quatrains of Nostradamus. In his epistle to Henry II, the French prophet wrote: “there will ensue the most horrible pestilence.” But in what is a reoccurring theme, Nostradamus predicts a disease to follow war and be accompanied by an ensuing famine.

So is the Ebola virus the pestilence Nostradamus predicts will wipe out a third of humanity?

About Ebola

The transmission of Ebola originates from human contact with animals and is passed from human to human by direct contact with blood, bodily fluids or infected organs. According to a World Health Organisation (WHO) report in September, 4,366 people have died from the Ebola infection between 1976 and 2012 – most of whom were in West Africa where facilities and treatments are not readily available.

Health organisations say the chances of people becoming contracting the disease outside the affected areas is low risk, but several isolated cases have been reported in various parts of the world.

One high-profile case in the United States is Dr. Rick Sacra who became affected with the virus after treating Ebola victims in Sierra Leone. He recovered after receiving a blood transfusion from a colleague at Nebraska Medical Center and is on a course of experimental drugs. Two other American Ebola patients have already recovered from the disease while a fourth is being treated.

The spread of Ebola

On the face of it, the Ebola virus does not appear to pose the worldwide population much of a threat and to date there has been no reported deaths caused by the infection outside West Africa. However, Michael Osterholm, director of the center for infectious disease research and policy at the University of Minnesota, wrote in an op-ed for the New York Times about another potential threat – that Ebola could evolve into an airborne disease.

Eobola, like most viruses, is notoriously sloppy in replicating and becomes genetically different from one person the next. The current hyper-evolution is unprecedented and human-to-human transmission in the past four months has been quicker than the past breakouts. Osterholm warns that if action is not taken soon, the Epidemic could spread “from West Africa to our own backyards.”

Century 8 Quatrain 17

Those at ease will suddenly be cast down,
the world put into trouble by three brothers;
their enemies will seize the marine city,
hunger, fire, blood, plague, all evils doubled.

The opening line in the quatrain above speaks for itself and the UN and WHO are typically have their feet wound up in red tape and a cure discovered in the Italian city of Naples is shelved and waiting for clearance. So could Naples provide a clue here?

The vaccine has been developed by pharmaceutical giant, GlaxoSmithKlein – possibly the three brothers that Nostradamus warns “put the world in trouble” and allows “their enemies [to] seize the marine city”. Naples is mentioned in several quatrain – together with nearby Sicily – has falling into “Barbarian” hands.

Century 7 Quatrain 6

Naples, Palerma and all of Sicily
will be uninhabited through Barbarian hands.
Corsica, Salerno and the island of Sardinia,
hunger, plague, war the end of extended evils.

There is some contention as to who the barbarians might be. Historically, barbarians has referred to uncivilised peoples, but in the modern world, it is only traditions and beliefs that are primitive. Nostradamus therefore could be referring to two types of people; the general population that have lost faith in government, or enemies of the West from the Middle East who continue to repress the rights of women and stone people to death.

With ISIS running rampant through Iraq and Syria, the growing threat of the Islamic State generating heightened tension between Western powers and Iran, and their supporters, is a possibility. As discussed in an earlier article, the threat of Russia towards the West is greater than surface chatter suggests and there is a case to answer for Vladimir Putin being the next anti-christ – which Nostradamus tells us will cause war and pestilence.

Mainstream media are reporting that the US and Iran are new found friends who have joined forces to combat ISIS. This prompts the expression “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” The contact Iran and US officials have, the more likely they are to fall out. Is this the lull before the storm?

Although it is true that Nostradamus does make many references to blood, war and famine in the same sentence, there is little to support Ebola being the destructive virus that will wipe out a third of the nation.

Admittedly, something will have to go drastically wrong with the vaccine if that were the case and given Ebola’s potential for transmutation, it is too early for pharmaceutical companies to predict if the anti-serum will have diverse affects in the future – especially when founding chairman of the Center for Genetic Engineering where the vaccine was produced talks about the “driving force of economic development.”

Could it cause mutations?

Century 5 Quatrain 63ry 5, Quatrain 63

From the vain enterprise honor and undeserved complaint,
Boats tossed about among the Latins, cold, hunger, waves
Not far from the Tiber the land stained with blood,
And diverse plagues will be upon mankind.
